Parenting Resources

I have been providing parent education classes, workshops and parenting booklets and articles since 2005. I bring a unique perspective on parenting from my experiences teaching in a Waldorf school and from my interest in Rudolf Steiner’s insights on child and human development, including the spiritual nature of human life.  I also draw continually from the work of current leaders in the field of psychology, neuroscience and parenting. Much of my parent education work has been in collaboration with Joya Loveday Birns, a Waldorf Teacher and Parent Educator. Parents from many school communities and homeschooling parents have attended our classes and workshops to gain renewal and inspiration for the important work of parenting the next generation.

I consult with parents in any part of California, in person or by phone, on topics related to child behavior, child development, discipline, family communication, creating therapeutic stories for children, and working with the spiritual world. 

I have one parenting publication currently available, Discovering Joy in Parenting (2014), for parents of children ages birth to seven, co-authored with Joya Loveday Birns. This parenting booklet is available below. I also have many articles that address parenting issues with elementary school-aged children.
